Los Angeles Dog Beaches

Dog Beaches in Los Angeles (2023 Best Beaches)

The sun is shining, the birds are singing and you and your dog are in need of a beach day. Living in Southern California means that everyday could potentially be a beach day! But to have a successful beach day, you have to make sure that your dog is allowed to be there.

The awesome news is…

There are a few great dog beaches in Los Angeles, each with its own set of perks. Here's a look at some of the best ones:

Rosie's Dog Beach: This popular Long Beach spot is known for being one of the most dog-friendly beaches in the area. Dogs of all sizes are welcome year-round, and there's plenty of space to run and play. The water here can be a bit rougher than at other beaches, so be sure to keep an eye on your pup.

Hermosa Beach: If you are looking for more of a laid-back atmosphere, then this is the best for you. Dogs are only allowed during certain hours (generally early morning or evening), but the beach is wide and open, making it a perfect place for a game of fetch. There's also a grassy area nearby where dogs can take a break from the sand or you can settle down for a sunset picnic.

Manhattan Beach: If you're looking for a beach that's both dog-friendly and beautiful, Manhattan Beach is worth checking out. Not only are dogs allowed on the sand year-round, but there's plenty of space to run around. A huge plus is that the water here is usually calm, making it a good option for swimming.

Venice Beach: This beach is known for being one of the most popular dog spots in Los Angeles. Dogs are allowed on the sand year-round, and there's a large off-leash area where they can run and play. The water here can be a bit murky, so it's not the best spot for swimming.

These are just a few of the great dog-friendly beaches in Los Angeles. If you're looking for a fun place to take your pup, any of these options would be a great choice.
